Islands

‘Islands’ is inspired by my time spent living off-grid within the tropical Daintree Rainforest in Far North Queensland, Australia. Almost untouched by artificial infrastructures and modern distractions, this place was a pure safe haven and one of the most beautiful experiences I’ve ever had the pleasure of experiencing. It’s a place of surreal natural beauty sat just on the doorstep of The Great Barrier Reef.

The musical ideas and canvases within this album are a direct reflection of my inner feelings and experiences of my time spent there. I’ve tried to capture each element of the individual environments and landscapes that I saw and experienced whilst living there, with each piece telling its own unique story.

“Picture yourself sat on a remote beach somewhere along the Pacific Ocean. The sun is at its peak and not a single cloud is in the sky. The gentle waves crash against the sand. The water is glistening as a gentle inward breeze sways the dense rainforest canopy behind you. There’s no noise pollution from cars or other people, just nature at it’s finest, giving us the purest natural soundscape.”
